Review of Detention (2012) by Andreina B — 05 Aug 2012
"Detention" is a modern popcorn flick that is definitely worth a couple viewings. The film was definitely intended to appeal to the teenage generation, almost the entire film filled of early 90s references, but had a stable enough plot to not be "lost in time" so to speak.
What starts off as a seemingly pop culture documentary style film, quickly turns into a comedic bloodbath before the opening sequences ends, setting up the film's fast pace. This quick pace never lets up through the entire 90 minutes, jumping from a serial killer, to time travel, and all the way to aliens.
Run by a great cast, awesome 90s references, and a borderline hilarious script, "Detention" definitely hasn't received the credibility it deserves. 8/10.
