Review of Detective Story (1951) by Daniel P — 07 Dec 2007
Kirk Douglas chews the scenery and spits out the hard-boiled dialogue. Based on a stage play and unfrotunately it shows. Some of the minor "comic relief" characters are unnecessary and predictable but Douglas' performance makes up for the shortfalls.
And the DVD has a flawless B/W print. Interesting.
