Review of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010) by Will W — 26 Oct 2010
Distinct, stylized film in the vein of recent Hong Kong cinema (since Crouching Tiger, Hidden Dragon) that offers some larger than life cinematography but not much depth of character. It's a long one, so you need to enjoy a "whodunnit" like Sherlock Holmes, in which everything is explained at the very end.
