Review of Detective Dee and the Mystery of the Phantom Flame (2010) by Jeffrey P — 03 Oct 2011
Like many mysteries, this one's a bit slow, and there's plenty of talky exposition to absorb. It's an odd example of a predictable plot without enough set-up for the viewer to guess the details.
Still, "Dee" has style, the main characters are interesting, and there's a sense of fun - not to mention just enough action to keep things moving when the story needs it most.
