Review of Detachment (2011) by Charles F — 31 Mar 2012
Kaye's Detachment is a beautiful representation of how erratic children can become. A drama that is capable of ripping your heart out and that pushes you to a certain limit where it isn't surprising to see that many people might dislike the harsh reality that Kaye per sues in his films.
Adrian Brody connects not only with his students, but also with the audience. A brilliant performance as well as a amazing screenplay. Sophisticated camera play, a new way of feeling behind the camera.
Great job by the director of photography.
