Review of Destry Rides Again (1939) by Riley H — 03 Nov 2007

There were so many parts of this movie that pissed me off. Yet, somehow, I was entertained. For one thing, the ending was just stupid: a serious action movie ending stapled on to a comedy. And Marlene Dietrich is NOT attractive.

For me, it's worthwhile seeing because you finally get to see what a huge chunk of Blazing Saddles was based on. Oh, and because it establishes that time-tested movie cliche of the hero who doesn't use guns (well, almost).

Yet there are so many ridiculous little thinks that grated on me. I am of two minds.
