Review of Destination Wedding (2018) by Feingarten — 11 Sep 2018
Frank&Lindsay exemplify the old adage Misery loves company and boy do they ever. Their over analysis of minutiae/long diatribes drains the movie of whatever emotion it might have. Levin missteps by only having these 2 unappealing people talk incessantly, never interacting with no one else.
Reeves handles the heavy handed dialogue well whereas Ryder's Lindsay gives into her feelings far earlier than he does. The more it tries to upend conceptions of love the more similar it becomes. No surprises as I knew from the onset, the outcome.
