Review of Despicable Me 3 (2017) by James Patrick M — 29 Jul 2017
A series of plots for a Despicable Me tv show and none of them fit together. While there are some moments where the movie is funny, cool, and even heartfelt, the rest is unfocused and not nearly as emotionally investing as the previous two.
The voice actors do a good job. The stand out for me is Trey Parker as this hilarious 80s tv villain. The minions are used sparingly, (probably because the Minions movie wasn't very good), and when they show up its actually funny.
Overall it's not bad, it just doesn't live up to the first two. I only hope they stop here because the only direction they can go from here is down.
