It is difficult to create hilariously engaging content repeatedly using the same characters and settings. The makers of Despicable Me 3 didn't want to take any chances and went with the tried and tested formula, why fix something that's not broken? The result has been a predictable 90 minutes that garners a chuckle or two, here and there, using the same techniques that were successful before.
