Review of Despicable Me 3 (2017) by Ravissary79 . — 13 Jul 2017
While still an entertaining film, Despicable Me 3 is a tad underwhelming compared to its predecessors. Gru has his hands full in this film with his twin brother, Dru, while also trying to get his job back after being humiliated by former child star turned villain, Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker).
Lucy, the formidable secret agent from the previous film, is reduced to a side role trying to be a good stepmom to Gru's girls. Meanwhile, the girls get almost totally sidelined, as do the Minions, who show up as a minor side-story.
In short, mildly entertaining but lacking some of the magic that made this film series great.
