Review of Despicable Me 3 (2017) by Movie K — 26 Jun 2017
Oh yes, the trilogy completes..perhaps? Some may feel it is too much already. This movie still entertains but on lesser scale and the minions are lesser featured. This time round, Gru and Lucy join hands to defeat 80s Hollywood child actor prodigy Balthazar Bratt (Trey Parker) from stealing the largest diamond in the world.
Balthazar has fame and fortune in the 80s as a child star but puberty hits and he is out of favour. Still stuck to his character persona, he become a villain. Gru and Lucy are fired for letting Balthazar escape.
The minions are tired of been nice and resign when Gru say their villainous days are over, except for 2 who were oblivious. Then Gru got to know he has a twin brother. They were separated because their parents divorced.
Dru has got hair and very rich. And also their father is a famous villain but Dru just cannot accomplish it. Balthazar pretend to inspect the diamond and steal it back. He has bigger plans of using it as a laser for his giant robot to wreck havoc in Hollywood.
Gru and Dru combine powers to attack his lair. They nearly die and Lucy save them in time. Dru is sad Gru only make use of him to take back the diamond to reinstate his job. Balthazar kidnap the 3 kids and the diamond.
Off he goes to Hollywood to wreck havoc. The diamond is attach to the laser head gear and he plans to lift up the piece of land. The minions were jailed for intrusion of a studio and they easily escape.
They miss Gru and along the way join back the gang to save the kids. Balthazar is defeated and they get their jobs back.
