What makes the Pixar movies so good is that they are able to seamlessly combine humor and heart. This is in the same vein. There are plenty of laughs here, whether you love the minions or not. And there are a couple scenes near the end that are pretty touching.

I think the relationship between Gru and the three girls was my favorite part. I'm not sure Vector's character really works as a villain but it's a minor concern in what otherwise is a solid movie.
