Review of Despicable Me (2010) by Ally R — 13 Apr 2014
Despicable Me (2010).
I went into this computer animated movie not thinking I would like it, and was pleasantly surprised. Criminal mastermind, Gru (Steve Carrell) is trying hard to stay at the top of his game despite a young whippersnapper, Vector (Jason Segel) seeming to beat him to the punch where ever he turns.
His ultimate heist would be to steal and ransom off the moon, but he's got to first nab a shrink ray from Vector with the help of three little orphans who are selling cookies door to door. So he adopts the girls despite him not being the fatherly type.
Gru has got the help of a mad scientist, Dr. Nefario (Russell Brand) who invents cool gadgets. He also has the help of one of the best things about this movie, the thousands of little yellow minions who run around like naughty little school boys.
I know that the little girls are supposed to steal your heart but the minions basically stole the whole show and are a probably the best reason to see this movie. Oh, and stay for the ending credit antics.
