Review of Despicable Me (2010) by Andrea B — 21 Jul 2013
A painfully formulaic animated kids film that takes all of the same and does it the same way all over again. Not a terrible film but there has not been one moment in the film that was not totally and 100 % expected and run of the mill. From the facial expressions (taken from Disney's books of 12 face expressions) to the plot, it all falls into place from the first minute. I wish someone would come up with some new ideas already. Anyway, good for the kids or if you are not a film buff, all others, steer clear. When it comes to voice acting, I was suprised by the quality of Brand's Dr,. Nefario rendition. Yet, I always found Carell to be notoriously unfunny and laughing at someone because he has a foreign accent is so 1980s, I am totally over it, so ... no thank you.
Oh, and I HATE (read . H A T E ) Disco Finales .... ! ! !
