Review of Despicable Me (2010) by Doctor S — 10 Sep 2014

Pretty funny with spotty pacing. Actually something of a relief to see an animated movie that doesn't feel the need to fill every single frame with frantic action. Gru and his aged scientist inventor are easily the best characters, while arch-rival Vector and the trio of orphans (using the unimaginatively bland off-the-rack 3-pack of the smart one, the rebellious one, and the cute one) respectively strain for chuckles and manipulate sympathies.

Kids will love the yellow minions.
