Review of Despicable Me 2 (2013) by Angela M — 19 Jan 2015

This film works best when it continues the themes of the first one, that is Gru struggling with being a parent to the three girls. While the minions are amusing, honestly, I thought thought they were overused in this to the films detriment -- they're more distraction and filler when the film should have, in my opinion, been exploring the human characters more which was the strength of the first film.

This is far from a bad film, and is still amusing and colourful, but I can't help but feel that it could have been more than it is.
