Review of Desk Set (1957) by Jennifer P — 09 Nov 2008
It is remarkable how relevant this old film is. Back in the day workers lost their jobs to machines. Now we loose our jobs to cheaper outsourcing workers overseas. Office politics haven't changed, although we don't get so sauced at work during holidays, openly celebrate Christmas at work, publically kanoodle with coworkers, or enjoy such large work spaces.
The snappy romantic comedy dialogue seems familiar, it was written by the Ephrons (parents of contemporary romantic comedy screenwriter Nora).
