Review of Descent (2007) by Jeffrey M — 26 Apr 2012
Tom Long (The Detroit News) called this movie one of the best horror movies in the last 20 years. Tom Long is a little nutty like that. I figured it out when he gave "Running Scared" a good review.
The claustrophobic and dimmly lit setting create unease, but there are few scares (unless you count sudden loud noises), the creatures look silly, and there are no likeable charecters in the movie to root for.
Throw in a lousy ending and you have a movie that just reaches so-so, but goes no further.
