Review of Descent (2007) by Eytan D — 23 Mar 2015
Definitely one of the scariest movies I've ever seen. Not only does Neil Marshall's Scottish import "The Descent" work as an action drama, but it completely works as one of the greatest horror films in years.
It's claustrophobic, tension-filled, gory, and it makes you jump like nobody's business. It's a horror movie that, for the first time in a while, knows what scares us. You will have the hardest time watching it if you're afraid of tight spaces.
Add to that these weird, vicious alien-like creatures ready to eat you, and you have a recipe for an A-grade survival thriller. The cast is terrific also, plus it helps that their characters are smart, bad-ass women who don't go down without a fight.
I honestly don't see a single flaw in "The Descent.".
