Review of Descent (2007) by Calvin R — 15 Mar 2016

When I first heard of this film, I was really up for it to watch it, but I still had low expectation, but once I viewed it I was blown away!

I think for the record it's save to say that there really hasn't been a solid or pure horror film since "Excorsit.".

Although their have been some good ones as well, and many will assume this is just another cave film like (The Cave and Cavern.).

The Descent, proves it's a masterpiece, and a pure horror film which will scare you and keep you on the edge of your seat. Especially the ending, in my opinion the ending was thought out very good, and terrifying at the same time. The Descent, offers one of the best cinematic intense ending I have ever seen, and it just falls in to place with the whole film.

The Descent, also offers other positive good elements that you want to see in a "pure horror film." It offers an amazing dark atmosphere, which all the intense scenes are viewed, it also has a claustrophobic feel to it, that even the audience who are claustrophobic to tight spot will feel the effects! Brilliant. Also it offers a psychological tone, but if you watch the British version.

The Descent, offers oriented story at it's best and well developed characters with outstanding performances by all our leads, especially: (Sarah, played by Shauna MacDonald and Juno played by Natalie Mendoza).

The gore level is high. The girls in this film proves that they don't need to be guys to fall off cliffs, fighting off creatures and getting eaten by humanoid creatures.

In addition, this film sets the bar high for upcoming horror films and in my opinion this is and has to be one of the few modern classic horror films that has ever come out!

Clearly The Descent is the purest horror film of 2006 and that's why it deserves an award!

Overall one of modern classic, and It shouldn't be forgotten for years to come!
