Review of Descent (2005) by Todd B — 29 Jul 2012
One of the better horror films I've seen in recent years. This film is expertly shot and fantastically paced, making for a real helluva spelunking ride. Also worth noting is the film's nearly all-female cast --- an interesting fact considering most pictures' male dominance in the acting department.
And boy do these ladies deliver. Their deft performances really bring the script to life and offer an engrossing contemplation on morality and the duality of humanity. Almost every scene is well done, building off each other and slowly ramping up the tension as the cast leads the audience deeper into hell on earth.
This Scottish import is a must-see for horror fans.
