Review of Descent (2005) by Todd S — 22 Oct 2012
This is a prime example of how genuine development of the main characters can lead to a truly terrifying and visceral atmosphere in horror films. Forget that they're the typical subterranean carnivorous subhuman predators - it could be the mummy for all it matters.
The real horror lies in the 'descent' of each character into their true form. If you have claustrophobia, this movie will destroy your mind. It took me days to get this film out of my head. This movie is utterly brilliant.
