Review of Dersu Uzala (1975) by Johnny B — 09 Jan 2009
A wise and beautiful movie with a very universal message that should be able to touch anyone regardless of their background.
There's nothing spectacular in the movie, but it deals with almost all important aspects of life: nature, life and death, friendship and love, social and historical development, conflicts between different people & cultures, and how - despite all the problems - understanding between different people & cultures can be possible and also very enriching.
Permanently in my top ten movies of all times.
