Review of Dersu Uzala (1961) by Rus A — 08 Jun 2008
A quiet, poetic, and absolutely beautiful film about friendship and survival in the Siberian wilderness. Filmed entirely in the Soviet Union, Dersu Uzala is Akira Kurosawa's only film to be spoken in another language.
It is a difficult and obscure film to find, which makes it all the more rewarding when you finally get the chance to see it.
