A group of expert bank robbers plans to rob the Federal Reserve of LA, while a team of cops tries to track them down. Nothing original here. Even the head cop (Gerard Butler) has classic authority issues and typical family drama.
At least he's not an alcoholic, which would have completed the flawed hero trifecta. While the narrative unfolds with predictable plot points, it remains an reasonably involving caper flick. Even at 2:20, it was never boring, but it was never thrilling either.
