Review of Demolition Man (1993) by Baurushan J — 14 Mar 2012
In Los Angeles 1996 in a violence-crazed conflagration, The LAPD's most dangerous cop John Spartan played by Sylvester Stallone is with his men in order to get to the blonde-haired black psychopath Simon Phoenix played by Wesley Snipes.
Simon kills all the innocent people and blames John for it but both of them are frozen as punishment for 70 years. In the future of 2032, SImon escapes and is on the rampage so the modern future cops have to defrost John in order to get to him.
When John wakes up in the future where Los Angeles and San Francisco have created a megalopolis called San Angeles, Violation Tickets appear for swearing, helmets are used for having sex instead of actual intercourse, seashells are used for toilet paper, cars can drive by themselves and Arnold Schwarzenegger was once a president.
In this peaceful bland society with no poverty or whatsoever, the two 20th century folks Phoenix and Spartan have been defrosted to give the society a little education while they are both having their duel.
This movie was perfect in every way. It did Kinda capture the future accurately in most parts like the Arnold Schwarzenegger part but the rest was truely done well. Sylvester Stallone and Wesley Snipes pretty much carry the movie by themselves.
There's a young performance by both Sandra Bullock and Benjamin Bratt and co starring Nigel Hawthorne, Denis Leary and Bob Gunton. This movie was awesome. I've never seen Sylvester Stallone be so badass in a movie before.
Demolition Man gets a 10/10.
