Review of Demolition Man (1993) by Guido S — 01 Jan 2014
In the future, there is no crime. Foul language is fined. Taco Bell won the food wars and is a fine dining establishment and serves small portions. Arnold Schwarzenegger became president with the 61st ammendment.
Scott Peterson is in jail. Cars are self driving with GPS. There are mobile devices which allow people to conference with one another. This film has a number of things which have oddly become true in recent years in a weirdly prophetic way.
Anyways, Wesley Snipes escapes and starts committing actual crimes, but the police is so inept that they need instructional videos on their mobile devices to know what to do. "Simon says....die".
Bullock is a young cop who wants to see action and finally gets it. This movie is full of cheese, but it is pretty good. Doesn't take itself too seriously. Another big-business-is bad type movie. Will be funny to see if anything else from this movie becomes true.
