Review of Demolition (2016) by Lincoln K — 08 Apr 2016
A solid central performance from Jake Gyllenhaal elevates what is an otherwise misguided movie. Basically a film about loss as Jake's character loses his wife to a car accident in the opening moments of the film and then becomes detached from his life and starts sabotaging it.
Naomi Watts shows up as an equally damaged person with a messed up teenage son... There are some moments that work here, and it seems to be trying to say something... but the film cant quiet figure out what it wants to say or how to end itself as it kinda rambles into an ending.
A misfire that could have had potential.
