I liked the film. The characters were quirky, to say the least, but each had valid reasons for not seeng the world the way everyone else does, Jake is once again showing his range at playing people on the edge of society's mores and values.

The scene with the kid in a hardware store was touching for a lot of reasons, even though it eventually wound up getting the bleep kicked out of the boy. Watts' role was almost marginal but as always delivers a solid performance.
