Review of Demolition (2016) by Wayne M — 06 Oct 2016
Demolition is a timely addition to the critique of the value of modern society. Jake Gyllenhaal is excellent as the man who is forced to confront his position in life after a tragic event. When his wife is killed in a tragic accident he begins to question his very place in the world, a place that seemingly had everything.
A series of letters to a vending machine company (yes you read that right) leads him to explain and discover that material possessions and a successful job don't automatically mean true happiness.
This film doesn't provide the answers but does offer a lot of questions.
