Review of Demolition (2016) by Yasenia M — 07 Apr 2016
Best film of 2016 so far. Fantastic performance once again from Mr. Jake Gyllenhaal. This guy has truly made a career for himself that finds me anxiously awaiting every film he's in. Demolition is the third great film in a row for director Jean-Marc Vallee, and I kept thinking while watching Demolition that this was the kind of film I wish Terrence Malick would make.
It has the same existential ambience that Malick plays with, but it's not so lost within itself. I left the theater thinking I've gotta see this one again to make more sense of it, because there's a lot here to decipher.
I loved the journey and the characters that go on the ride with Davis Mitchell. Take the chance on this film because it may just grab you like you don't expect.
