Review of Demolition (2016) by Allan C — 03 May 2016
Demolition was a good film. I was genuinely interested from almost the start to almost the finish. At times a little slow in moving the story forward. It was also another film of this year that has gotten to some point and then been a little unsure of exactly how to end.
Because of this a secondary story develops but is not really explored. In particular this raises the coincidence level a little. A pet hate of mine is that movies often have multiple things happening to a small set of characters.
Of course most interesting stories have some kind of uniqueness or rarity to them, otherwise they would not be so interesting. But this secondary event appears tacked on at the end of a film that didn't require it.
But otherwise a good movie. Sort of thing you'll like if you enjoyed August: Osage County (but note I thought I would not enjoy that but did so don't base your judgement on this if you haven't seen Osage County).
