It's interesting that this was remade. Not because it was done in such a short time after the original came out, but because it was remade by the man responsible for the original. Delivery Man follows a down on his luck man who finds out that he is the father to over five hundred kids.

I haven't seen the original, so I can't compare the two, but on it's own, Delivery Man is just okay. Vince Vaughn is a little toned down here, though he does get his spurts of fast talking throughout.

But for the most part, he plays a different role, but it is refreshing to see him mix it up. The film is overly sentimental and cheesy and the jokes are spotty, but the film's best parts come from Chris Pratt and a few scenes pertaining to a particular son.

The pacing is also an issue, especially the last forty minutes, which really seem to move at a snail's pace. When it finally does end, the film just feels like it was made to capitalize on the success of the original while never really finding a good balance between the schmaltz, comedy, and drama.
