Review of Delivery Man (2013) by Peter H — 27 May 2014
Vince Vaughn has not found the same stride from Wedding Crashers in any film since, but he has come close on a few occasions. Just looking at his filmography and you can't help but agree with most of the fresh/rotten results.
Most are unfortunately rotten. I think it's totally based on his lack of a solid No. 2 outside of Owen Wilson, which actually made 'The Internship' better than advertised. It's nice that the actual story ends up tugging on your heart more than you think it would, but the meat of what you expect out of a Vince Vaughn showing is the comedy.
The timing is just never there, even from Chris Pratt who does the most with what he's given by Ken Scott who directed the original Starbuck this movie is based on. Let's continue to see where Vaughn goes with his films, cause certainly Delivery Man isn't on an upward trend.
