The whole affair is very conventional.
It's far from being effectively scary.
The jolts are pretty rare but I give the filmmakers kudos for the creepy visuals and makeup effects.
The final scene is the best portion of the film because it's fairly intense.
Eric Bana is great and Scott Derrickson captures the gritty side of the city when it comes to law enforcement.
It's just that he didn't have the courage to go the extra mile the film could have made.
It's always kind of a pattern now with each film he makes, he plays it too safe.
This movie, you watch, it's over, nothing else.
