Review of Deliver Us from Evil (2014) by Zac C — 08 Jul 2014
The atmosphere is creepy. The cop stuff works the best in this. But halfway through they kind of drop that. It gets a little creepy but never scary. Quite a few jump scares. The family scenes (wife and daughter) scenes, were terribly acted and the writing is mostly the blame for that.
Bleck. But the priest, Edgar Ramirez did good in this. Eric Bana was alright. Some of the side characters kinda vanish. In the end I never really felt like there was much danger involved because things never really got out of control.
Apart from the possessed girl who they kind of write off. I mean she should have been the main focus. Once you get passed the creepy after hour zoo scene the rest is more action movie that horror.
