As proved in Sinister, Scott Derrickson excels at creating creepy atmospheres. Deliver Us From Evil brings nothing new to the genre, but is interesting enough to keep one engaged. The character development is not the greatest, and the jump scares, while effective, are cliche.
While not meeting the standards set by Sinister, it is nonetheless a decent scary movie.
