Review of Deliver Us from Evil (2014) by Lluvia A — 29 Sep 2014
I have only seen Scott Derrickson's "Sinister" and I was not impressed. This film, based on an NYPD cop's memoir, was better than I thought it would be. Eric Bana plays Ralph Sarchie a man who has a "radar" for things that will occur on certain cases.
While investigating a case he meets Mendoza (Edgar Ramirez) a priest who suggests the case may involve something more evil than the experiences of war. It seems obvious since all the people connected to the crimes are injuring themselves, speaking latin and have no regard for anyone around them.
The best part came near the end when they finally meet the soldier who started it all and exorcise the demon inside.
