Review of Deliver Us from Evil (2014) by Shunta A — 05 Dec 2014
"Deliver Us From Evil" could've been so much more, coming from director Scott Derrickson, the mind behind the new horror classic "Sinister" and the quite good PG-13 effort "The Exorcism of Emily Rose".
But a good atmosphere, the presence of Eric Bana, and a bang-up climax can't overcome a script that drips with cliches, a lack of scares, and a generic-as-hell title. In these aspects, "Deliver Us From Evil" is Derrickson's biggest disappointment since his "Day The Earth Stood Still" remake.
