For me, personally, this isn't a bad movie, it isn't good either, its okay. Scoot Derrickson, also directed Sinister, which is also one of my favorite horror movies, I saw a little bit of the same formula that he used in Sinister and The Exorcism of Emily Rose.

And I also noticed a lot of jump-scare moments, which really makes a horror movie but these days, its mostly turning into a cliche. Also, the owl and the "pop goes the weasel" clown thing, nice touch, scary as hell, but it also boosts up the level of creepiness in the movie.
