Say what you will about the subject matter and how it makes you feel -- this documentary is absolutely riveting. Now, I myself am not of any faith, but I don't think it's difficult for anyone to look at this documentary and to not then turn a critical eye to the politics of the Catholic church.

I'm more than aware that this is not a reflection on all church-goers, priests, bishops, etc. It's a very real problem, however, and this beautifully made documentary explores said problem without sentimentality or saccharine.

An unsettling flick, to be sure, but one worth watching. I'm glad I finally sat down to do so.
