Entertaining and creative enough to keep you engaged. I don't mind the fact that this story has be retold so many times, Jeunet's universe is so charmingly absurd it makes up for any flaws or weaknesses the plot may have.
Has a small cameo by Howard Vernon. This movie is not so much a horror film but more of an introduction to a a variety of interesting characters and their relationship with each other and an ex-circus performer.
