Where as City of Lost Children felt to me like a turgidly paced, off putting story that made that movie a dullfest in spite of the amazing visuals, here they have managed to combine their trademark visuals with a story that is more often funny and entertaining.
While at times it felt a little too weird, and maybe times when it went a little slow, there is enough wow moments in this that when you weigh it all up you are glad you have seen it. At least I was. I can't stress enough how great the visuals are at times in this movie.
