Review of Déjà Vu (2006) by Agnes — 26 Nov 2006
Was it me or was there any suspense in this bad bad flick. What could have been good was done in by a lame script, poor acting and awful directing. Denzel Washington played the same character he always does, tough, straight as an arrow, and without any emotion.
His supporting cast walked through this film as though they were wooden Indians. Val Kilmer, well it looks like he ballooned up to about 250 pounds from his leading star Batman days. He is almost unrecognizable.
Adam Goldberg is the best of the rest but we don't even get to know the character behind the person. Denzel falls in love with Paula Patton and becomes obsessed with changing history even though he may be risking his life to do so? Of course, as I said, there is NO suspense as the audience is already looking at their watch about fifteen minutes into the movie.
Folks this is one bad movie that gets the viewer more frustrated by the second. At the end of the movie the scientists dissapear into nothingness. It doesn't get uglier than this.
