The underlying story here is that:

The government is all powerful - It has technology that no-one can beat.

The government (it's agents) are nice caring guys and they like Denzel.

"Patriots" (this one has it tattooed on his neck in case you miss the dialogue) are crazy, bent on killing (nice people and babies) and could easily be "domestic" terrorists.

The government saves the day just in time - and then, for everyone who knows this is just a movie, Denzel confirms it with "naaah..".

Deja Vu is a sickening attempt at fuelling the desperate proposed gun control measures for removing American Second Amendment rights. These domestic terrorists are so crazy and don't mind killing even little peachy faced kids. If you have the budget you can bullshit the people most of the time... but it's getting thin.
