Review of Déjà Vu (2006) by Howie V — 04 Feb 2011
When people talk about time travel "application" is always the issue. What would you do? What are the ramifications? Thank God it's impossible, right...? They could've stayed on the worm hole debate for days but the show must go on; hence, we see the major difference between theorists and experimentalists. Agent Pryzwarra (Val Kilmer) best sums the premise of Deja Vu, "In a sense we're always looking in the past. Even light reflected from yourself to the mirror takes some time to get back.".
They apply this technology to something positive...they want to nail the sob. Oh, what a performance by James Caviezel. I didn't even know he was in this movie then "Hey! It's Jesus!" His scene with Denzel is one for the ages. I know a ghetto Silence of the Lambs when I see one. The music is a bit amnesia / conspiracy theory - ish. You'd expect something with bounce from a movie set in New Orleans. Act II got a little peeping tom but it was part of the story. Kudos for a car chase sequence that actually advances a plot. GO EGGHEADS! Thumb up!
JAMES: So you better have some divine intervention, buddy. You're gonna need it.
DENZEL: You better have some K -Y. You're gonna need it.
JAMES: (a single tear).
