Review of Definitely, Maybe (2008) by Esteban G — 28 Dec 2011
Thanks to a good script, a good direction from Adam Brooks, and a great performance from the entire cast (Ryan Reynolds was suprisingly good in his role and far different from his other action or comedy flicks and truely carries the movie) this movie is defintely the best romantic film of the year.
The interaction between Will (Ryan Reynolds) and his daughter Maya (Abigail Breslin) is very believable and sweet. The premise is also interesting as Will tells Maya his romantic history and makes her guess which one is her mother by changing the names of the three woman he cared for during his life (which makes things far much more interesting for the audience).
The three woman are Emily (Elizabeth Banks), April (Isla Fisher), and Summer (Rachel Weisz) which are all very different from each other but have played a significant part in Wills love life. The three actrices do a fine job and have great chemistry with Reynolds who definitely carries this movie.
A sweet and romantic movie which many might find suprisingly entertaining to watch.
