Review of Defendor (2009) by Isuru B — 22 Apr 2011
Woody Harrelson displays amazing acting. Defendor's persona is developed in a natural and plausible way. It brings up the essence of the post-modern hero; A deeply damaged person who fights evil in order to mask, and pretend to overcome, its own traumas. The story is not as important as the acting nor the overall analysis of the movie.
My only step back towards this movie is the unending american fixation with big dimensions. The final scenes of the movie (despite the courage of SPOILER ALERT-------------------------------------killing defendor--------------------------------------------, the proportions his endeavor takes are much too big and forceful, invoking old hollywoodian clichà (C)es. Overall great movie.
