Review of Defendor (2009) by George W — 15 Apr 2010
Don't let anyone pitch this to you as a comedy, it isn't. It's a thoroughly depressing tale of two seemingly irreparably damaged individuals, that is so tonally all over the place that I have literally no idea who it is aimed at. It's too dark for kids, it's not dark enough for teenagers, and I'm not really sure what's left for anyone else.
But that being said, it had me won over by the end. Not in a "I totally want to see that film again!" kind of way, or even in a "I'm going to be recommending this film to everyone I know!" kind of way. In fact, I suspect it winning me over was a freak incident, an incident likely not to occur again for any of you. So, with that...
AVOID.
