Review of Defendor (2009) by Andrew D — 27 Oct 2010
Yes, its another 'average person dresses up and acts like a superhero' movie...only this one isn't quite up to scratch.
The biggest problem is that, unlike Kick Ass where there is a certain element of truth prior to the flights of comic book fancy, this story never really rings true. Harrelson's character, rather than being childish with a strong sense of justice, is actually a mentally handicapped person who just doesn't understand the world around him at all. This makes the story a lot harder to swallow than others like it.
Harrelson once again does his best with what hes given, but the comedy element is hit and miss, and the tone of the film misjudged at best.
